Arcade Fire Music Video

Woah, just found this new video to go along with Arcade Fire's "We Used to Wait".  It is a pretty cool interactive video featuring familiar sights, no matter who you are or where you're from. You do need Google Chrome to view it, but if you don't already have Chrome you're probably a loser anyway and not reading this site (seriously though, if you do not have Google Chrome, download it immediately, its the fastest and best browser, sorry Apple fans).

Fang Island

I really don't know much about this band other than they're from Providence and they just released their self-titled debut album back in the spring.  They describe their music as "a bunch of people high-fiving each other."  They're a little bit indie, a little bit progressive, and have a tad of 80's hair metal in their sound.  With three guitarists Fang Island delivers an original rock show on their debut album.

Just Woke Up

I found this video this morning Steve Martin- Oh What a Night- two things this is not a cover of The Four Seasons and more surprisingly, it is not sung by the comedian Steve Martin.  It is very funky though

Buckethead- Jordan- this was the best song on Guitar Hero.  Blob I will still kick your ass any day of the week in  that game.

Gary Busey in Surviving the Game- OK I have never seen this movie but just from this clip I can tell it is awesome.  First you have Gary Busey telling a story of how his dad trained him to be a ruthless, cold blooded killer and then you have Ice-T playing a homeless guy with dreads (what Law & Order wasn't calling yet?).  The movie is based on the short story "The Most Dangerous Game," which is a great story.

Blur-Parklife

If I were to ask someone my age to name the best bands to come from Great Britain they would probably spout off some of the greats such as The Beatles, Zeppelin, or The Stones then they would probably move on to bands from our generation, Oasis and Radiohead (dare i say Spice Girls?).  Not many would say Blur (the band that sings Song 2).  Blur was part of a resurgence of Brit-pop/rock that emerged during the 90's.  The Verve, Blur, Oasis, and Radiohead all emerged from Britain in the early to mid 90's with some amazing music.  It really is astounding the amount of great music that Britain produced in such a short span, not to mention artists such as The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Paul Oakenfold, and John Digweed.  You could make an argument that if you ignored grunge, British bands owned 90's music.  Blur is overlooked when it comes to this great time in music as Oasis and Radiohead still get most of the airplay on the radio.  Parklife is their crowning achievement.
